About

Phoebe Blatton grew up in south-east London and lives in Berlin.

I write about art and culture for various international publications, including ArtReview, Art Monthly, Frieze, Flash Art, Apollo, Ocula and MAP.

I co-founded The Coelacanth Press, which produced the serial arts publication The Coelacanth Journal. The journal featured over sixty contributors, including Turner Prize nominees Tai Shani, Anthea Hamilton and Monster Chetwynd.

I have a longstanding interest in the life and work of Brigid Brophy and republished and introduced a new edition of Brophy's cult novel of 1956, The King of a Rainy Country with an afterword by Jennifer Hodgson and artwork by Bonnie Camplin to critical acclaim. My writing on Brophy appears in the Edinburgh University Press publication, Brigid Brophy – Avant-Garde Writer, Critic, Activist.

I work as an editor and proofreader for various international institutions, publishers and private clients. Please contact me if you would like to commission me for your project.
